Detection of Clinically Significant Warm Reactive Anti-A1 in a Post Red Blood Cells Transfusion Patient with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

چکیده
The purpose of this article is to report that some anti-A1 react at 37°C are IgG antibodies and clinically significant, as they can cause the destruction a proportion A1 cells in vivo following transfusion red blood cells. Therefore, when serum an individual contains anti-A1, further testing plasma against group A1, A2, O by referencing lectin (Dolichos biflorus lectin) must be performed. Confirming specificity also important selecting appropriate for transfusion. ABO naturally occurring activate complement cascade, making them more likely severe reactions compared other RBC antigens.

Transfusion of murine red blood cells expressing the human KEL glycoprotein induces clinically significant alloantibodies.
BACKGROUND Red blood cell (RBC) alloantibodies to nonself antigens may develop after transfusion or pregnancy, leading to morbidity and mortality in the form of hemolytic transfusion reactions or hemolytic disease of the newborn. A better understanding of the mechanisms of RBC alloantibody induction, or strategies to mitigate the consequences of such antibodies, may ultimately improve transfusi...
متن کاملExpression of ROR1 Gene in Patients with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) results from genetic alterations in a single lymphoid progenitor cell. Expression of ROR1 is reported to be increased in ALL and mantle cell lymphoma. In this study the expression of ROR1 was assessed in newly diagnosed patients with ALL. Methods: This study was carried out on 40 patients with newly diagnosed ALL and healthy individuals as contro...

متن کاملPrognostic effect of blood transfusion in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
BACKGROUND Most children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) receive blood transfusions. Transfusions may affect ALL outcomes through transfusion-related immunomodulation (TRIM). METHODS We analyzed overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) in relation to leukocyte reduced and irradiated (LR/IRR) blood products transfused during the induction phase in 136 children with ALL. Haza...
متن کاملDETERMINATION OF A SHARED EPITOPE ON CELLS FROM ACUTE MYELOGENIC LEUKEMIA (AML) AND T-ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA ( T-ALL)
Two IgM monoclonal antibodies (MAb) with strong reactivity for granulocytes and to a lesser extent for lurkat cell lines were established by immunizing BALBI c mice with a histiocytic cell line (UY37). These two MAbs (designated as 6C9 and 4C4) reacted with blast cells of T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) patients as well as leukemic cells from pat...
